Acre Russian River Valley 2011 Chardonnay

Wine: Acre Chardonnay
Store: Trader Joe's
Price: $6.99 (I think)

I've had a little bit of trouble finding information on this particular wine. Apparently, Acre is a mid-range vineyard (which, since I buy cheap wine, I would have no clue). They have another chardonnay they sell, which I am finding between $15 and $25 online, and even though this is bottled with the same label, it is considered a lower end of their brand, bottled specifically for Trader Joe's.

We had this wine tonight with dinner (homemade salmon cakes on a spinach salad), and it was love at first sip. The wine perfectly complemented the soft flavor of the salmon and felt just right on this cool summer evening. This wine starts off with some fruity tones...perhaps a little pineapple-y, is quite creamy, and finishes with just a hint of acidity. Considering it is a little more costly than my usual bottle of wine, it's well worth the splurge.
